Leaving The World Behind
Many people like to talk about following God and the wonders of being a Christian. You have just given your life to Jesus Christ. Now your apart of the kingdom of heaven and you are now God’s child. However, now a sacrifice must be made to fully be used by God and to avoid being a lukewarm Christian.
Leaving the world behind can be hard for many new Christians and even those who have been in the faith for a long time. What used to seem fun now has to be put to the side for Christ’s sake. “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me” (Matthew 16:24). Following Jesus Christ is not just about words but also about action.
Leaving the world behind means leaving the wild parties behind, fornication, getting drunk and smoking etc. What seemed cool to you at some point now must be restricted in order to go higher in God. You must now seek holiness and righteousness to even enter the Kingdom of Heaven in the end. “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14).
Pursuing a lifestyle that pleases God is a must in order to make into the Kingdom of Heaven. You won’t be perfect or without mistakes but striving for God and allowing the Holy Spirit to convict you even in your wrongs is essential. This is needed as God has now chosen you to be set apart from the world. “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you” (2nd Corinthians 6:17).
Come out from the world as you are a new creation in Christ. You are not better than anybody but you must choose the narrow path. Yes, you might lose friends, family members or coworkers but it must be done because God has chosen you out of the world. Now you must fulfill your calling as a Christian or risk falling back into the world.
It may seem fun to be apart of the world as being worldly comes with popularity many times but it will pay a price in the end. “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 14:12). Being worldly and following the crowd seems fun but this just leads to eternal damnation in the end.
It seems fun to many people to smoke their weed, get drunk, party all night, fornicate, commit adultery etc. Only for many people of these to die in their sins without repentance and end up in hell and then be thrown into the Lake of Fire after Judgment Day.
The narrow path is few but it leads to eternal life as the broad path leads to destruction (Matthew 7:13 -14). Time is running short family and many people including a lot of Christians will not make it to the Kingdom of Heaven. Let’s repent, be set apart and keep our minds focused on Jesus Christ.
Though we are born and physically exist in the world, we are not apart of it spiritually. Our real world is the Kingdom of Heaven. Don’t get caught up in the distraction as this life is temporary but eternity is forever. God bless
